Clinical Experiences

Clinical experiences are the first exposure to observation, tutoring, assisting, small group and whole class instruction in schools and other agencies. A minimum of 100 clinical hours are earned before student teaching and at least 50 of these hours are completed in diverse settings which are embedded into coursework.

Clinical Experiences are started as early as freshman year and completed before student teaching. Before starting any clinical experience, complete the clinical checklist. *Transportation to/from clinical school is the student's responsibility.

Professional Education Sequence

Secondary & K-12 majors complete clinical experiences in their major and Professional Education sequence:

• EAF 228, 231, or 235 - Requires a Diverse Clinical Experience.
• PSY 215 - No Clinical Experience required.
• TCH 210 - Self-placement in agencies or schools outside the B/N area unless arranged by course instructor.
• TCH 212 - Diverse clinical experiences at multiple local schools and agencies. 
• TCH 216 - Clinical experience at University High School (arranged by U-High). 
• TCH 219 - No Clinical Experience required.
