All K-12 and secondary programs are uniquely different, however, there are some similarities. These include classes in Educational Administration and Foundations, School of Teaching and Learning, clinical experiences, and student teaching. View similar degree requirements.
Clinical experiences can take place as soon as a student enters a teacher education program. Students observe in a variety of diverse settings, including urban classrooms, classrooms with special needs populations, and community agencies serving youth. Students spend at least 100 clinical hours working in classrooms with P-12 students. The capstone of each program is the student teaching experience, which takes place during a student's last semester (some majors offer year-long placements).
Numerous scholarship opportunities are available to teacher education majors across campus. The preferred education scholarships application dates are October 15-November 15 each year.
