The College of Education works with the University's Research and Sponsored Programs, Grants Accounting, and Research Ethics and Compliance Offices to encourage and support research and grant submissions by its faculty, staff, and students. Research and Sponsored Programs will match funds up to $250 to support a faculty member’s publication costs, exhibition fees, and open access fees. They will match funds from faculty, Department, or College. For more information, please see RSP’s Internal Grants page.

The mission statement of the Illinois State University Laboratory Schools includes four pillars, one of which is focused on research. In order to conduct research in the Unit 5 School District, please complete the Request for Research Form and send to the Associate Dean for Research. Applicant will be notified when form has been reviewed and sent to the Unit 5 office for review and of potential approval.
By the second week of each semester, the researcher should complete the COE Research Outcomes Report to show progress on the research. This form also notifies Unit 5 when publications or presentations are completed from the research in their school district. These reports should also be sent to the Associate Dean for Research.
