University Supervisors

University supervisors act as intermediaries between the university and the host school. University supervisors are hired by individual programs.

Responsibilities

  • University Supervisor Handbook
  • Plan the student teaching semester in collaboration with the cooperating teacher and the teacher candidate.
  • Provide information about requirements and teaching standards.
  • Observe the student teacher approximately once every two weeks.
    • Pre-conference, observe, and post-conference with the student teacher for each visit.
  • Collaborate with the cooperating teacher on mid-term and final student teaching grade.
  • Mediate the best resolution to problems as they arise.
  • Submit final grade and evaluation of placement via the online student teaching documentation form (formerly the "Red Doc"). This must be completed for proper student teaching documentation!

Student Teaching Documentation

All university supervisors must complete and submit their final evaluation via the Student Teaching Documentation Form through Campus Solutions.  Please use the following video for assistance in completing the form:

*Important- Please know that within Campus Solutions, the main ISU clinical experience link has changed to ISU extensions by technology staff. All other page names remain the same.  Electronic resources will be updated once campus transitions to updated Campus Solutions software. If you have the pre-student teaching or student teaching document page already saved as a bookmark, the ISU extensions page will have no impact to your saved page.
