Mandatory Reporter of Child Abuse Training

Teacher candidates must complete an online training program to be mandated reporters of child abuse/neglect to the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) Child Abuse Hotline.

1. Complete Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse: Training for Mandated Reporters:

• A pre-training assessment (13 multiple-choice questions)
• 60-90 minutes of self-paced interactive training
• A post-training assessment (13 multiple-choice questions)
• Certificate of Completion

2. Submit the following together to teacheredcenter@ilstu.edu as evidence of completion:

• Certificate of Completion with name.
• Signed "Acknowledgement of Mandated Reporter Status" (CANTS Form 22). Name must be a signature, not printed.
• Please include Name, UID and Major in email when sending your forms.
