Business Official Endorsement
The program requires completing at least 36 hours of coursework, passing the state CSBO certification test, and demonstrating 2 years experience with different verified financial duties. The verification of experiences is usually scheduled with several current CSBOs who meet with the candidate and review a portfolio of verified experiences.
CSBO applicants who have an MBA, MPA, or master's in accounting/finance with 2 years full-time P-12 school business experience need to contact the program contact prior to completing an application for admission.
Courses that count towards a Superintendent Endorsement are denoted as (*S).

- EAF 521: Moral and Political Foundations of Educational Policy Analysis (*S)
- EAF 548: Advanced Seminar on Legal Basis of Education (*S)
- EAF 575: Seminar in School Business Management
- EAF 576 Administration of Instructional Programs (*S)
- EAF 579: Research Seminar on the Public Finance of Education
- EAF 580: Educational Facilities (*S)
- EAF 584: Superintendent and Central Staff (*S) (capstone)
- EAF 585: Management of Educational Funds (*S)
- EAF 586: Administration of Human Resources (*S)
- EAF 587: Community Relations Seminar (*S)
- EAF 596: Negotiated Agreement Administration & Development
- Take Illinois License Exam and have scores sent to ISU
Required Courses for Individuals with Business Master's Degrees
For those individuals who do not have 2-years full-time P-12 school business experience, you must successfully complete all of the required coursework from above and take:
- EAF 598: Professional Practice - take course twice over two semesters (6 hours)
Technology Requirements
To successfully complete Educational Administration and Foundations courses, students in all programs are expected to have frequent and convenient access to a computer and Internet resources. Review the EAF technology requirements.
Completion Information
Within the first 2 weeks of the semester that you plan to graduate:
- Follow instructions on the Educator Licensure page.
- Follow instructions on the Graduation Procedures page.
- Program contact fills out the Degree Audit from the Graduate School and sends it to the Department Chair, who will complete and forward to the Graduate School.
