The Redbird Educator Scholars Program is an initiative for first time in college students who attended a high school with an Education Career Pathway. As a Redbird Educator Scholar, students will participate in mentoring and a variety of activities designed to support their progression to becoming a teacher.
Please contact the program director to see if you are eligible.
Peer mentors are sophomore teacher education students who attended a high school with an Education Career Pathway. Peer mentors are paid $20 per hour. Through this program, peer mentors will make a positive impact on new teacher education students and will have the opportunity to grow their own leadership skills through exposure to experienced educational leaders, identification of individual strengths, and training in restorative practices.
Faculty and staff mentors play a crucial role in providing one-on-one and small-group support to the Redbird Educator Scholars. They assist with academic enrichment, time management skills, goal setting, reflective writing, and conflict resolution.
