Tutoring at the Borg Center for Reading and Literacy is designed to support learners in Grades 1-8 who experience difficulty with reading, spelling, and/or writing. Our tutors are trained to conduct assessments and design individualized instruction for each tutoring session. We provide direct instruction on literacy skills and strategies with time in each session to apply skills in authentic reading and writing contexts using materials connected to relevant grade level curriculum.
Our summer program will run for five weeks beginning on Monday, July 8, 2024, and ending on Thursday, August 8, 2024. Tutors will meet with students twice weekly on MW or TTH for a total of 10 sessions. You can indicate on the registration form which days/times work best for your family.
The cost to participate in our summer tutoring program is $250.00. If you have any questions about the program, please contact Dr. Deborah MacPhee at (309) 438-3836 or dmacphe@ilstu.edu.
Our Summer tutoring program is currently full. Please complete the waitlist form and we will contact you if additional tutoring slots become available.
