Department of Educational Administration and Foundations
The Educational Administration and Foundations Department prepares people of diverse backgrounds for leadership roles in education through our master's and doctoral programs in Educational Administration on campus and in off-campus sites such as Chicago, Springfield, the Quad Cities, and Peoria.
Department of Special Education
Illinois State University is the first choice for special education in Illinois and the leading teacher preparation program in the state. The undergraduate program offers specialization programs in deaf and hard of hearing, low vision and blindness, and learning and behavior. Individualized master's and doctoral programs, as well as graduate certification, are offered based on candidates' educational and professional experiences and goals.
School of Teaching & Learning
The School of Teaching and Learning prepares teacher candidates for initial teaching positions in the areas of early childhood, elementary, middle level and bilingual education. The school offers nationally acclaimed master's and doctoral programs in education.
Illinois State University Laboratory Schools
The University Laboratory Schools, Thomas Metcalf and University High, provide educational opportunities for 1,000 preschool through twelfth grade students. It also provides teacher candidates the opportunity to observe, study, and experience a model school employing excellence in educational theory and practice.
Office of the Dean
The Office of the Dean provides support for administrative, curricular, technology, communications, and fiscal functions of the college. The office serves undergraduate and graduate students, faculty and staff, and departments and units associated with the College.
